Louise Kirtley

Louise qualified from the University of Brighton in 2002 and worked in rotational posts at Queen Elizabeth II Hospital and Lister Hospital including inpatient and out patient therapy in a variety of specialitites. This included Stroke rehabilitation, Respiratory Care, Elderly Rehabilitation, Day Hospital, Paediatrics, Acute Medical and Surgical Care.

From 2007 she has specialised into community rehabilitation including post operative rehabilitation, falls prevention, prevention of hospital admission, orthopaedics and a special interest in neurological rehabilitation. She has also recently returned to working in Paediatrics.

She believes that through effective physiotherapy treatment and rehabilitation one of the most important roles of the Physiotherapist is to empower patients to improve and manage their own conditions. This would include exercise, lifestyle advice, education and hands on treatment. There is no better feeling than rehabilitating and treating patients to allow them to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.
