Special Interests: Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedics, Acupuncture, Hyper-mobility
Dorothy qualified from The London Hospital, Whitechapel, with Credit in 1977 and worked in the NHS before moving into the Independent Sector in London then Hertfordshire, working in private hospitals gaining experience in many conditions. She was Physiotherapy Manager for many years within a private hospital, but still maintained a 'hands-on' clinical workload throughout.
Dorothy's main love has always been Orthopaedics but she enjoys treating all conditions, and is enjoying working in an environment where she can concentrate 100% on patient care. She believes in a 'hands-on' approach aiming at restoring range of movement, muscle strength, balance and function, to increase patient confidence and mobility from the younger injured patient, through to the elderly where age and 'wear and tear' have taken their toll. She is also happy to visit housebound patients in their own home, or Care / Nursing home when necessary.
Dorothy is a member of several physiotherapy Professional Networks and was proud to be the 'East of England' Representative on the Council of the 'Chartered Society of Physiotherapy' for 12 years from 2003 until 2015. She is currently a Trustee and Chair of the CSP Members Benevolent Fund, and in 2014 received a Distinguished Service Award from the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy for her work on Council and for the Benevolent Fund.
